This Just In: Tulsa Still Rocks

Business Facilities just released its 2009 Metro Rankings list, and our fair city ranks high on not just one, but two of their lists.

Tulsa was ranked No. 1 for cost of living and No. 2 for quality of life. The magazine named Tulsa’s low cost of living and high rate of pay as two factors in its ranking.

The president of the Tulsa Metro Chamber, Mike Neal, had this to say:

“Accolades continue to proclaim Tulsa a great place to live and do business, and it’s no surprise with our low cost of living, stable housing market and the growing number of attractions like the BOK Center and downtown ballpark. Recognitions Tulsa is receiving for housing, job creation and quality of life demonstrate our numerous assets and the reason we are a vibrant, thriving community experiencing true revitalization.”

I moved to Tulsa two and a half years ago, mostly because of an overwhelming desire to get out of the small town where I’d grown up. And I’m glad, because I love it here. I love how green it is, and how beautiful the River Parks are.

I love watching the city as it moves through the seasons. I love the myriad restaurants for every taste and budget. I love how diverse it is, and how it has all the “fun stuff” of a big metro area while still retaining a small-town feel.

This city fascinates me, and I want to live here as long as possible.

Tulsa rocks!

Do you love Tulsa, too? Why? Tell us in the comments!
