The Strategy
The Tulsa Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club is a nonprofit organization wtih a focus on local charities, helping out fellow alums, and supporting the Pi Beta Phi chapters at OU and OSU.
Their previous website was difficult to update and limited in what they could do. They really wanted a member directory and a way to hide member-specific content from the public at large, as well as the ability for their members to pay their dues online. Plus, they wanted the site to be fun, youthful, and modern.
Aqua Vita Creative worked with them to design a website that would meet all of their needs.
The Execution
The first step was getting them off the proprietary software that made it so difficult for them to make site updates and onto WordPress, with a theme that had a built-in visual editor so they could make changes without having to see any code at all.
Then, we integrated MemberPress, which allowed us to protect their member-specific content from the general public, like the member directory and their event details. We also added an event calendar that would make it easy for them to keep their members updated with what events are happening and when.
Our final step was to set up the form for paying dues, integrating it with their payment gateway, and giving members the option to donate to different project funds with their dues payments.
