June 26 is the primary election for the state of Oklahoma. If you’ve paid any sort of attention to politics in the past two years, you know our state’s been struggling to deal with a massive, massive budget shortfall, and there are still people actively trying to turn back the decision to give teachers pay raises.

The people we put into office this year are going to be the ones charged with cleaning up these problems that have been building for years. But unfortunately, primary elections and midterm elections—what we have this November—have a notoriously low voter turnout.

As business owners, we have a special responsibility to our community to be aware of the issues and the candidates in our cities and states.

So please, get out and vote on June 26. Make your voice heard.
