How does the embroidery process work?
Before you begin a project, most embroidery shops charge a setup fee to “digitize” your logo. This fee is usually based on the number of stitches required to create your logo.
Once this digitizing process is complete, they can turn out as many items as you want with that logo on it: polos, t-shirts, bags, caps, jackets, aprons, etc.
What is stitch count?
Stitch count is the number of stitches required to embroider your logo or custom embroidery design.
In our case, this design took about 6,000 stitches. Larger, more complex designs will typically require a higher stitch count.
Estimating Logo Embroidery Stitch Count
1 solid square inch of embroidery equals roughly 2 thousand stitches, or 125 stitches for every 1/4 inch.
Do you have a straight line under your logo? This typically adds an additional 200 extra stitches per inch. Do you have drop shadows in your logo? This adds about 200 extra stitches per inch.
Things like fabric type, color, or intricacies of your logo design can also affect stitch count.
